The Mater Hospital, Brisbane

Paynter Dixon Queensland (PDQ) began on site at the Mater Hospital immediately following the November 2014 hail storm that hit Brisbane. The storm caused significant damage to major infrastructure at the Mater Hospital that needed immediate attention. Roofing of 47 buildings including metal and copper sheeting all required assessment

There were also a number of Heritage listed buildings that required roof sheeting and came as no surprise given the age and significance of this property. The majority of the buildings also required internal works, ranging from replacing just a handful of ceiling tiles to a complete refurbishment, including service works.

Paynter Dixon Queensland were able to offer a complete redesign of affected areas to the client, offering a more user friendly, packaged service. Paynter Dixon were also able to complete all asbestos removal, painting and repairs to the building including the upgrade of mechanical, electrical & data services to a more modern, efficient system. Whilst scaffold was still in place for the undertaking of roof works, Paynter Dixon were able to successfully work under the direction of Mater to complete additional painting and repairs to the building which as a result provided significant savings.
