Capilano Honey

After a fire destroyed a large proportion of Building B at the Capilano Honey Richlands site, Paynter Dixon were engaged on a cost plus basis to rebuild the facility. The fire caused extensive damage to the production area of the plant, affecting their ability to continue production. An analysis was completed to ascertain the cost and time associated with constructing a temporary production plant to enable operations verses the impact of Business Interruption insurance. Having proved cost effective to complete the temporary works in conjunction with the commencement of Building B, both the temporary build and permanent arrangement were completed on time and on budget resulting in a positive outcome for all parties.
