Southern Hotel, Toowoomba

The Southern Hotel has completed the fourth stage of its Masterplan, producing an outstanding new dining space. Recognising the potential to diversify, the owner’s brief was to build an inside/ outside cafe that would seat 90 people. The renovation also included upgrading the staff offices, storage, and parking through the demolition of an unused motel building.

An old motel and administration building was demolished to accommodate 50 extra much needed car spaces and a 250m shed was erected to house the hotels beer storage. At the rear of the hotel a new large administration area was built providing three offices and extra storage area. The seamless integration of “Inferno“ has seen a cafe business evolve that uses the existing kitchen facilities. With inviting seating, couches to lounge in and tables to dine at, the area is perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Patrons are invited to enter through large wooden doors. The Indonesian look and feel includes a waterfall, rattan chairs all with a classy, modern feel. High quality fittings and fixtures, along with top-notch furnishings make the cafe an eye catching standout out area. The cafe can be accessed through its own entrance or from the existing dining room.
